Tech to Law: A Journey of Growth and Aspiration

Tech to Law: A Journey of Growth and Aspiration

Growing up in the "decade of the dot-com," my formative years were steeped in a fascination with the digital world, leading me to pursue an undergraduate degree in international management. This path wasn't just a stepping stone; it was part of a broader vision to establish a global tech consulting firm. As my studies deepened, I discovered that to truly understand commerce, one must integrate ethics into the fabric of business education. This realization intertwined my growing interests with the principles of legal education that echoed my childhood values.

After completing my degree, I ventured into real estate with Century 21 Percy Fulton, where I solidified my resolve to pursue a career in law. My role at the University of Ottawa as an undergraduate management student allowed me to lead a team on a case study project involving TELUS Mobility. This experience sharpened my leadership and communication skills and underscored the importance of teamwork in achieving complex objectives.

My journey also took me to Kognitive Marketing, where I honed my abilities in system-building and financial planning. There, I developed a marketing plan that turned theoretical profit into tangible income, proving my capacity for innovation and strategic thinking. These experiences underscored the value of proficient communication and creativity, essential tools for the nuanced challenges of legal arguments.

Furthermore, my internship at Shopify introduced me to the nuances of cybersecurity and e-commerce, areas that I am eager to explore further in a legal context. This knowledge will not only aid my academic pursuits in technology-focused law courses but will also empower me to broaden access to justice using these modern tools.

Malcolm X once said, "Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today." I am committed to transforming my skills and knowledge into a career that bridges my technical expertise with my passion for law. I believe that being a Juris Doctor candidate will provide an unparalleled intellectual challenge with vast potential applicability in the modern world.

Enclosed with this post is my resume, highlighting my academic achievements and professional experiences. I am eager to discuss how a legal education can enrich my capabilities as a hard-working and enthusiastic Bachelor of Management graduate.

I also wish to address my ongoing effort to overcome past challenges, as advised by my practitioner. I am dedicated to redefining my path and contributing positively to the community, including supporting students with disabilities. This commitment is not just about personal growth but about giving back and fostering an inclusive academic environment.

Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to the opportunity to interview with you and further discuss how I can contribute to and grow within your esteemed program.

Sincerely,

MF
