Our Planet app empowers businesses to offset their shipping emissions through high-impact projects and partnerships. With every order placed using Shop Pay, Sound Marketing funds carbon removal efforts, ensuring a minimal environmental footprint at no extra cost to customers.
During peak shopping seasons like Black Friday/Cyber Monday, Sound Marketing goes the extra mile by purchasing carbon removal credits to neutralize the shipping emissions of every order. In 2020 and 2021, we successfully offset over 120,000 tonnes of carbon.
Joining Forces with Climate Entrepreneurs:
The Sound Marketing Sustainability Fund dedicates at least $5 million annually to support pioneering entrepreneurs working on reversing climate change. We invest in revolutionary technologies, such as carbon-injected concrete, carbon-absorbing kelp, and advanced air-cleaning fans, aiming to scale and commercialize these innovations for substantial long-term impact.

Generating Renewable Power:
Sound Marketing is proud to be the first Canadian-founded company to sign a power purchase agreement (PPA) aimed at powering 100% of employee home offices across North America with wind energy. This agreement supports the creation of a new wind farm in a province known for its carbon-intensive energy grid, setting a precedent for renewable energy adoption.
100% Carbon-Neutral Platform:
Recognizing the environmental impact of data centers, Sound Marketing transitioned entirely to Google Cloud in 2018. Google Cloud matches 100% of its energy consumption with renewable energy, allowing us to operate a completely carbon-neutral platform.
A Carbon-Neutral Company:
Since 2019, Sound Marketing has sourced renewable energy for heating, cooling, and powering our buildings and employee home offices. We've procured sufficient green energy to offset our natural gas and electricity-related carbon footprint in Canada. For travel-related emissions, which are five times our operational footprint, we purchase verified carbon offsets.
